COBRA HYDE WORKSHOPS

At Cobra Hyde we are very proud to offer a range of workshops aimed at increasing awareness across a variety of topics. These workshops are open to the whole community and run periodically. Please see more details of the workshops we have on offer below, including what to expect from each one:

LADIES SELF-PROTECTION WORKSHOP

This is offered FREE to ladies in the whole community, and is aimed at giving you skills and knowledge you can use to protect yourselves should you ever need to. This one hour sit down course is about education and awareness, as opposed to a physical workshop.

Topics will include:

- The environment

- Intimidation

- Avoidance and Compliance

Unlike the self-defence workshop, NO practical techniques will be shown on the day.

LADIES SELF-DEFENCE WORKSHOP

Different to the self-protection workshop at Cobra Hyde, we also offer another annual event under the CMAA's Cobra Self-defence banner.

This workshop is for ladies in the whole community, and is aimed at giving you practical techniques you can use to protect yourselves should you ever need to. This one hour workshop is about practical application, where you can try out different techniques on each other, should you wish to on the day.

Topics will include:

- When can we use self-defence?

- 3rd party perception

- Pre-emptive striking

- The difference between self-defence and self-protection.

We will then show you different techniques against a variety of attacks, before giving you a chance to try them for yourself.

It is to be noted that nothing is ever guaranteed in an aggressive situation, and although each and every technique shown on the workshop has been pressure tested, avaoidance and escape remain the best options of protection if possible. This workshop has been designed to give you possible help, should you be unable to escape.

'BULLY AWARE' WITH COBRA HYDE AND THE CMAA

Cobra Hyde are very proud to be able to offer the CMAA's Bully Aware programme.

This workshop is FREE for the whole community, not just club members. It is aimed at educating children and parents to identify the two aspects of this horrible situation, (verbal and physical bullying) and to encourage speaking out to teachers and parents, as well as offering support to the victim. We will also look at school rules, and discuss what we can and cannot do in certain situations.

Please click the bully aware image to find out more information about the programme.
